How we started... Opening a restaurant at Lazy Acres, our family farm, has always been a dream of Farmer Michael and his daughter Mikayla. However, the logistics of operating a pumpkin patch and Christmas tree farm alongside a year round restaurant just didn't seem feasible (especially to Mrs. Cathy, the farmer's wife).

 

One night in December, 2023, Farmer Michael saw on Facebook that Mr. Mike's Frozen Yogurt business in Newton, MS, was up for sale. Michael casually looked at his family and joked, "I think I'm going to be the next Mr. Mike." Over the next couple of weeks, the May family kept brainstorming about opening a restaurant and the dream started to become reality. We officially opened for business May 4th, 2024.

What's in a name?  The name of the restaurant is a family name that has been passed down through the May family for generations as all of the May grandchildren called their grandfather "Grandaddy." However, Michael's grand daughter, Rynna, put her own spin on the family name when she called him "G-Daddy."

 

Our mission: Our goal as a family is to provide the same great food and service that you will find at our agritourism business. We hope you enjoy great meals and making memories here at G-Daddy's.
